Lens Impression
Hugo Meyerのレンズには、俗に「きのこ型」と言われる、希少なレンズが3本あります。
①マクロ・プラズマート 3.5㎝ ｆ2.7、②マクロ・プラズマート 5cm f2.7、③プリモプラン 5cmf1.9という、いずれもライカ・スクリューマウントのレンズ。

いずれも非常に美しい形ですが、中でも外見の特徴として目を引くのが、レンズ正面外周部分に2つ付いている「絞り調整用突起」です。
この突起のレンズはこの3本だけかと長い間考えていましたが、今回のプリモター11.5ｃｍｆ3.5レンズは、まさにこの特徴を備えています。
製造番号もマクロプラズマートやプリモプランに近いですね。
外見はまさに「2重きのこ」状態です。
ピントリングなしのバレル状態でしたが、購入した店に頼んで、ライカＳマウントに改造していただきました。非常にどっしりとした形状に仕上がったと思います。
テッサー型ですので、基本的にはきっちりとした描写を示してくれますが、経年変化も加わって、結構柔らかく感じられる部分もあります。
ただし、非点収差や像面湾曲によるぐるぐるボケなどはあまり見られません。

Meyer lenses.
1/Makro Plasmat 3.5cmf2.7, 2/Makro Plasmat 5cmf2.7, 3/Primoplan 5cmf1.9 all in Leica screw mount.
All of them are beautiful enough to fascinate old lens fans, and also they
have their common characteristic in the shape of Aperture ring which are
equipped with 2 unique bumps(projections) on their front peripheral portion.
For a long time, I think there are only those three lenses which have 2
bumps, but this Primotar 11.5cm f3.5 has the entire same characteristic
on it.
The outlook is as ‘Double Mushroom’.It has no focus control ring, so I
ask the shop I bought to modify fitting on Leica S2.
I think it became a little too dignified shape.
As it has a Tessar type composition, it shows very clear description generally
with however some softness because of its age. It shows no swirling bokeh
of astigmatism or curvature of field.
